Deuterium
Deuterium is Spacy's rare resource. It fuels your fleets, powers the Fusion Reactor, and is required for top-tier research. It is also the only resource whose production directly depends on the planet's temperature.
Production
The Deuterium Synthesizer extracts deuterium from the planetary atmosphere. Like the other mines, output grows exponentially with level, but it is modulated by the planet's temperature.

Temperature factor
Deuterium output is multiplied by a factor that depends on the planet's maximum temperature: the colder it is, the more you produce. Detailed formula and floor explained in Temperature & habitability.
Main uses
- Fleet fuel: every ship burns deuterium to move, see Mission types
- Fusion Reactor: consumes — deuterium/hour at level 1 (scales with level) to produce energy
- Advanced research: most late-tier research costs deuterium
- Military ships: every military unit has a partial deuterium cost
Advice
Deuterium is often the mid-game bottleneck. Prioritize its extraction as soon as you start building fleets and running advanced research — and pick your colonies carefully: a cold planet produces far more deuterium than a burning one.
