Dyson Sphere

The Dyson Sphere is the most prestigious feat an alliance can achieve: a vast structure enclosing a star, visible to all in the system's sky. Building it crowns a long shared effort; owning it is a symbol of power.

An alliance megastructure

The Sphere anchors to a star chosen by the alliance and unfolds around it. Everyone can see it in the system view, allies and rivals alike. It is refined in tiers, growing in reach as it is improved.

A collective undertaking

A Sphere is not built from one player's stockpile: it is funded entirely by the Alliance Bank. It is a long, demanding undertaking — but a high-level Embassy on the leader's side markedly shortens the work.

An eye on the galaxy

The Sphere's power is sight: it detects fleet movements across a vast region around its star, giving the whole alliance the means to anticipate attacks and manoeuvres. And the more powerful the chosen star, the farther its watch reaches — so the choice of star is anything but trivial.

A war objective

Such a wonder draws greed. The Sphere is destructible: an enemy alliance can launch an assault of S.A.P. ships to try to annihilate it. But it need not stand undefended — members can station support fleets that keep watch and repel attackers.

Tips

  • Fill the Alliance Bank first: without it, no Sphere can rise
  • Choose its star with care — its nature shapes how far its watch reaches
  • Guard it: a Sphere without support fleets is easy prey
