Bounties

The bounty system turns your displeasure with another player into an opportunity for the rest of the universe. You do not spend any resources to place a bounty: the amount is derived from your military relation score with the target, and the game itself pays the reward to the avenger. Bounties are public and visible in the Bounty Office.

To place a bounty

You can only place a bounty against a player who has seriously wronged you — concretely, whose military relation toward you is sufficiently negative.

  • Your military relation score with the target must be — or lower (the lower it is, the higher the bounty)
  • You cannot target yourself
  • No level, building or alliance prerequisite
  • Each attack you suffer lowers the relation by 5 points: a single aggression is enough to meet the threshold

How the reward is calculated

You do not pick the amount yourself: it is derived automatically from the severity of your dispute with the target. Per negative relation point, the rate is:

  • — units of metal
  • — units of silicon
  • — units of deuterium
  • Final amount = |relation score| × these three rates

Examples

  • Relation at −5: 2,500 metal + 1,500 silicon + 500 deuterium
  • Relation at −20: 10,000 metal + 6,000 silicon + 2,000 deuterium
  • Relation at −50: 25,000 metal + 15,000 silicon + 5,000 deuterium

Choose an objective

When placing the bounty, you define the exact condition that will unlock it. Four objectives are available:

  • Military victory: a real combat won by the attacker — the simplest condition
  • Fleet destruction: destroy a defined percentage of the target's ships in a single combat
  • Resource pillage: bring back at least a minimum amount of metal, silicon or deuterium stolen from the target
  • Specific ship destruction: shoot down a certain number of units of a chosen type (e.g. 10 battleships)

Multiple posters, a single bounty

  • All bounties placed by different players against the same target are pooled into a single envelope
  • Each poster can only have one active contribution per target (but can edit it at any time to change the objective)
  • Each contribution keeps its own objective: the avenger must satisfy at least one of the deposited objectives to cash in

Claiming a bounty

  • The game automatically detects combat outcomes satisfying an objective and pays the full bounty to the avenger
  • Immediate payout to the avenger's homeworld, no fees, no splitting
  • A bounty can only be claimed once: the first attacker to fulfill an objective takes the entire envelope and the bounty is then closed
  • You cannot claim a bounty on yourself
  • No impact on your honor or military relation: the bounty changes nothing beyond the combat itself

Target side

  • The target is notified as soon as a bounty is placed on them, but the identity of the posters is never revealed
  • Active bounties are public: any player can open the Bounty Office and see who is under contract
  • The target cannot remove the bounty — only each poster can remove their own contribution

Expiration and cancellation

  • A bounty expires after — days if no one satisfies any objective
  • On expiration, the bounty is simply lost — since no resources were committed when posting, there's nothing to refund
  • A poster can withdraw their contribution at any time; if no poster remains on a target, the bounty is archived
